# Broadway’s ‘SIX’ sets closing date

“SIX” will play its final Broadway performance on Jan. 3, 2027\. Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’ musical had its official Broadway opening on Oct. 3, 2021, and, by the time of its closing, will have spent over five years on Broadway playing 2,178 performances. 

“SIX” recasts the wives of Henry VIII as a pop group who seek to reclaim their history through song. Following a 2017 premiere at Edinburgh Fringe, it had an Olivier Award-nominated run in the West End. “SIX” played its first preview at Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre (now the Lena Horne) on Feb. 13, 2020, but its official opening was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic; when the curtain was finally raised on Oct. 3, 2021, “SIX” became the first new musical to open on Broadway post-shutdown. It was nominated for eight Tony Awards, winning Best Original Score and Best Costume Design.

The current Broadway cast consists of Khaila Wilcoxon as Catherine of Aragon, Chloe Tucker Caine as Anne Boleyn, Olivia Donalson as Anna of Cleves, Stephanie Jae Park as Catherine Parr and original West End queens Natalie Paris as Jane Seymour and Aimie Atkinson as Katherine Howard. Paris, Atkinson, Caine and Park joined the cast on Aug. 17, marking the Broadway debuts of the first three.

The musical’s U.S. tour is set to continue, with its next engagement at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, Maryland, slated to begin on Oct. 25\. “SIX” also continues to run in London’s West End and on tour in the UK and Australia.
