Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) and the League of Live Stream Theater (LOLST) will stream a live capture of Broadway’s “School Girls; Or, the African Mean Girls Play” during its final week of performances. “School Girls” is currently playing at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, where its limited run began previews on Sept. 8 and opened on Sept. 28\. A recording of this Broadway mounting will be available to audiences worldwide, streaming concurrently with the production’s onstage performances from Nov. 10 through Nov. 15\. Streaming ticket holders can also watch the recording during a 24-hour replay period following each stream.

Written by Tony Award-nominated playwright Jocelyn Bioh, “School Girls” centers on students at a Ghanaian boarding school in 1986\. When a recruiter for the Miss Ghana pageant visits the school, the reign of queen bee Paulina is threatened by the arrival of Ericka, a light-skinned American transfer student.

In addition to ticketed streaming, MTC and LOLST are offering high schools worldwide free access to the LOLST live capture of “School Girls” through MTC’s Learning and Community Engagement program. [Registration is required](https://www.manhattantheatreclub.com/learning/watch-week/?ref=broadwaynews.com). Schools may stream the recording between Nov. 2 and 13 and will be provided with educational resources to encourage classroom discussion of the play’s themes. To date, more than 6,500 students at 70 high schools across the U.S. have registered to watch the streaming version of “School Girls.”

Directed by Tony Award nominee Whitney White, the production stars Lucia Aremu, Denée Benton, Patina Miller, Erin Morton, Nia Otchere-Sarfo, Jordan Rice, Jasmine Amy Rogers and Heather Alicia Simms. It features scenic design by Teresa L. Williams, costume design by Tony winner Qween Jean, lighting design by Tony nominee Stacey Derosier, sound design by Tony winner Cody Spencer, hair and wig design by Special Tony winner Nikiya Mathis and makeup design by Deja Smith.

“Bringing Manhattan Theatre Club’s exceptional production of ‘School Girls; Or, the African Mean Girls Play’ to a global audience is a perfect example for why we founded the League of Live Stream Theater,” said LOLST co-founder Jim Augustine in a statement. “Jocelyn Bioh’s wildly entertaining play is a vital and universally resonant piece of storytelling that demands to be seen. We are honored to partner with MTC to make this magnificent production accessible to audiences everywhere.”

“This highly acclaimed production deserves the widest possible audience, and by joining forces with the League of Live Stream Theater, we are able to break down geographical barriers and share the incredible energy of our production with communities far beyond New York City,” said Chris Jennings, executive director of MTC.

LOLST is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding the reach of live performances by broadcasting them worldwide. It previously partnered with MTC to stream the latter’s productions of “Punch” and “Jaja’s African Hair Braiding.” Additional information, including performance times and ticketing details, is available via LOLST’s [website](https://lolst.org/shows/school-girls?ref=broadwaynews.com).

“School Girls” is produced on Broadway by MTC (led by artistic director Nicki Hunter and executive director Jennings) in association with Chase This Productions and Susan Kelechi Watson.
