The Broadway producers of “Other Desert Cities” have announced a special performance to benefit the Entertainment Community Fund (ECF). All ticket proceeds from the play’s Jan. 3 evening performance will go directly to the Entertainment Community Fund, a national nonprofit organization serving the needs of people working in entertainment and the performing arts.

The most recent show to host an ECF benefit performance was “The Music Man” in August 2022; the revival added a ninth performance to one of its running weeks and donated 100 percent of ticket proceeds to the Fund. Although the benefit performance of “Other Desert Cities” is not an added performance to the show’s weekly schedule, it marks the first time in more than four years that a running Broadway production has donated all ticket revenue from a single performance to the Fund.

“Other Desert Cities” stars Golden Globe and 11-time Emmy Award winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus in her Broadway debut alongside Tony Award nominee Ed Harris, two-time Tony nominee Allison Janney, Tony nominee Lily Rabe and Netflix’s “Stranger Things” alum Joe Keery in his Broadway debut. The revival of Jon Robin Baitz’s family drama began previews at the Hudson Theatre on Sept. 29 ahead of an Oct. 18 opening and is set to run through Jan. 17.

“Other Desert Cities” is produced on Broadway by ATG Productions, Bad Robot Live, Gavin Kalin Productions, Kristin Caskey, Bee Carrozzini and Mike Isaacson.
