Caldwell, a four-time Tony Award winner, [passed away](https://broadwaynews.com/2020/02/18/four-time-tony-award-winner-zoe-caldwell-dies-at-age-86/?ref=broadwaynews.com) on Feb. 16 at age 86\. The theaters will dim their lights for one minute on Feb. 28 beginning at 7:45 p.m.

“Zoe Caldwell was indisputably Broadway royalty with four Tony Awards and four decades of thrilling performances in work ranging from Tennessee Williams to Euripides to Terrence McNally. Her audiences were struck by her elegance, her strength and the penetrating timbre of her extraordinary voice. But those of us lucky enough to have worked with her – whether on stage or in one of her rare film roles – likely equally remember her kindness and beaming smile. She was a great star and a great woman,” Thomas Schumacher, chairman of the Broadway League, said in the press release.
