Broadway grosses dropped from Thanksgiving highs last week, but still maintained elevated levels.

Grosses across the 29 shows on Broadway reached $26.2 million in the week ended Dec. 5 and theaters played at an 83% capacity. This is still the [second highest gross](https://broadwaynews.com/2021/11/30/broadway-posts-record-grosses-during-thanksgiving-week/?ref=broadwaynews.com) reported this season, even though the industry had four fewer shows than in preceding weeks.

“Is This a Room,” “Dana H.” and “Chicken & Biscuits” played their final performances in the week ended Nov. 28\. “American Utopia” [canceled all performances](https://broadwaynews.com/2021/12/05/wicked-american-utopia-cancel-weekend-broadway-shows/?ref=broadwaynews.com) last week due to a “non-COVID related illness.”

There were 217 performances played on Broadway last week — fewer than in the two previous weeks — due to the show closures, as well as the cancellation of three “Wicked” performances [due to COVID-19](https://broadwaynews.com/2021/12/05/wicked-american-utopia-cancel-weekend-broadway-shows/?ref=broadwaynews.com) cases in the company.

The average ticket price across the 29 shows was $124.35, which is a drop from the $136.35 commanded in the week around Thanksgiving, but higher than the four weeks preceding that. In the first week [grosses were released](https://broadwaynews.com/2021/10/27/broadway-shows-filled-85-of-all-seats-last-week-league-says/?ref=broadwaynews.com), ended Oct. 24, the average ticket price was $125.87.

The grosses are being released as collective totals for all shows, and therefore do not represent an accurate picture of all shows on Broadway.
