# Black Theatre United’s marketing internship will return this summer

Black Theatre United (BTU) has announced that its Broadway Marketing Internship Program will return for a third year. BTU is an advocacy group dedicated to increasing awareness, advocacy and accountability in achieving equity and inclusion for Black theater professionals. Originally launched in [2022](https://www.broadwaynews.com/black-theatre-united-launches-marketing-internship-program/), the paid internship provides 12 individuals the opportunity to learn more about the world of marketing and advertising for Broadway shows.

The interns work directly with six Broadway marketing organizations: Serino Coyne, AKA, RPM, Situation, TodayTix Group and Spotco. Interns delve into several areas of marketing, including research, strategic planning, creative development and art direction, media planning and buying, social media, content development, partnership marketing, production, data analysis and insights. Interns also receive mentorship from BTU members.

The eight-week program is scheduled to run from June 24 through Aug. 16, and is open to all undergraduates, regardless of race or ethnicity.

BTU was founded by Lisa Dawn Cave, Darius de Haas, Carin Ford, Capathia Jenkins, LaChanze, Kenny Leon, Norm Lewis, Audra McDonald, Michael McElroy, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Wendell Pierce, Billy Porter, Anna Deavere Smith, Allyson Tucker, Tamara Tunie, Lillias White, NaTasha Yvette Williams, Schele Williams and Vanessa Williams.
