“Beetlejuice,” which was scheduled to end its run at the Winter Garden Theatre on June 6, will not be returning to the theater due to extended closures on Broadway.

Broadway theaters will remain closed [through June 7](https://broadwaynews.com/2020/04/08/broadway-theaters-extend-closure-through-june-7/?ref=broadwaynews.com), the Broadway League announced Wednesday, after initially announcing a reopening date of April 13\. The “Beetlejuice” producers, however, are still considering moving the musical to another theater, according to a spokesperson for the production.

The decision on moving to another theater will not be made until there is a reopening date for Broadway, the spokesperson said. “Beetlejuice” [had been considering](https://broadwaynews.com/2019/12/16/beetlejuice-brings-attention-to-broadways-stop-clause/?ref=broadwaynews.com) a move after the musical hit its stop clause and was asked to vacate the theater by the Shubert Organization. Since falling to that low gross threshold however, the musical’s grosses had been [on an upswing](https://broadwaynews.com/2020/01/06/beetlejuice-breaks-box-office-record-for-a-third-time/?ref=broadwaynews.com), prompting consideration of a move to another theater.

“The Music Man,” starring Hugh Jackman, [is scheduled](https://broadwaynews.com/2020/01/06/the-music-man-confirms-winter-garden-theatre-for-broadway-run/?ref=broadwaynews.com) to play at the Winter Garden Theater in the fall.

This means “Beetlejuice” will have played its final performance at the Winter Garden Theatre on March 1, after having played 27 previews and 366 regular performances.

The producers, led by Mark Kauffman, plan to launch a national tour in the fall of 2021.
