# ‘An Enemy of the People’ revival is extended

The new Broadway staging of Henrik Ibsen’s “An Enemy of the People” will run longer than initially planned. Originally [announced](https://www.broadwaynews.com/succession-star-jeremy-strong-will-bow-on-broadway-in-an-enemy-of-the-people/) as a limited engagement through June 16, the production will now run through June 23 at the Circle in the Square Theatre. “An Enemy of the People” began previews on Feb. 27 and [opened](https://www.broadwaynews.com/the-broadway-review-in-enemy-of-the-people-a-script-brilliant-as-ever-but-a-production-begging-for-more-bite/) on March 18.

Directed by Sam Gold and featuring a [new translation by Amy Herzog](https://www.broadwaynews.com/what-to-expect-from-the-jeremy-strong-and-michael-imperioli-led-an-enemy-of-the-people/), Ibsen’s drama is set at a popular new spa in a small Norwegian town. When Doctor Thomas Stockmann discovers the spa’s waters are actually contaminated, he hopes to report the news. However, those in power attempt to silence his revelation. Stockmann is disturbed to find the charge is led by the town’s mayor, who is none other than his brother, Peter.

Heading the cast is [Jeremy Strong](https://www.broadwaynews.com/succession-star-jeremy-strong-will-bow-on-broadway-in-an-enemy-of-the-people/) as Dr. Thomas Stockmann, with [Michael Imperioli](https://www.broadwaynews.com/white-lotus-star-michael-imperioli-will-join-jeremy-strong-in-an-enemy-of-the-people/) as his brother, Peter Stockmann, and [Victoria Pedretti](https://www.broadwaynews.com/victoria-pedretti-to-make-broadway-debut-in-an-enemy-of-the-people/) as his daughter, Petra Stockmann.

Completing the company are Katie Broad, Bill Buell, Joe Cassidy, Caleb Eberhardt, Matthew August Jeffers, David Patrick Kelly, David Mattar Merten, Max Roll, Thomas Jay Ryan and Alan Trong.
