Pulitzer Prize-winner “A Strange Loop” won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical, with “The Inheritance” taking home the prize for Outstanding Play in the digital ceremony Saturday evening.

The 65th Annual Drama Desk Awards, rescheduled from [the previous date](https://broadwaynews.com/2020/05/31/drama-desk-awards-broadcast-postponed/?ref=broadwaynews.com) of May 31 amid protests in New York, aired on NY1 with host Frank DiLella. The ceremony honored an abbreviated season, with March 11 as the cut-off date for eligibility, for productions Off-Broadway, on Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway.

In addition to the competitive awards, the Drama Desks honored producer and director Hal Prince with a lifetime achievement honor in his name. The Harold Prince Award will henceforth be given annually to members for outstanding contributions in theater.

Special awards were given to the ensemble of “Octet,” to actress Mary Bacon, the Actors Fund, Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley, to the Public Theater’s Mobile Unit, to WP Theater and Julia Miles and to intimacy coordinator Claire Warden.

The Drama Desk Awards were presented by the Drama Desk organization, in partnership with Broadway Brands, the parent company of Broadway News.
