# ‘A Strange Loop’ extends Broadway performance cancellations due to COVID-19

“A Strange Loop” has pushed back its first preview to April 11 after COVID-19 cases were detected within the company.

The new musical [previously canceled](https://broadwaynews.com/2022/04/05/a-strange-loop-cancels-first-broadway-performance-due-to-covid-19-cases/?ref=broadwaynews.com) its April 6 performance, which was meant to be its first preview, after “a limited number” of cases were found in the company. At that time, the production expected to resume performances on April 7.

“A Strange Loop” is currently scheduled to open on April 26, two days ahead of the Tony Awards eligibility cut-off.

Its cancellation comes after Plaza Suite lead Matthew Broderick [tested positive Tuesday](https://broadwaynews.com/2022/04/05/matthew-broderick-tests-positive-for-covid-19/?ref=broadwaynews.com) for COVID-19 — performances continued with his standby. Daniel Craig and other members of “Macbeth” have [also tested positive](https://broadwaynews.com/2022/04/03/daniel-craig-tests-positive-for-covid-19-macbeth-cancels-perofrmances-through-april-8/?ref=broadwaynews.com) for the virus, leading to the play’s cancellation through April 10\. The Off-Broadway musical “Suffs” canceled performances Tuesday night after lead Shaina Taub and other company members tested positive.
