“Jagged Little Pill” and “Moulin Rouge!” topped the 74th Annual Tony Awards nominations list Thursday.

“Jagged Little Pill” received 15 nominations and “Moulin Rouge!” received 14.

With 12 nominations, “Slave Play” is the most nominated play in Tony Awards history. “The Inheritance” followed with 11.

Actor James Monroe Iglehart announced the nominations for the shortened 2019-2020 Broadway season in a digital ceremony.

Notably, the date for [the digital ceremony](https://broadwaynews.com/2020/08/21/tony-awards-to-be-broadcast-digitally-this-fall/?ref=broadwaynews.com) has still not been announced and Tony voters have yet to receive instructions on voting procedures for the season. The Broadway League had previously told members it was aiming for a ceremony in the “late fall.”

The Tony Award nominators considered 18 productions from the season, with [a cutoff date](https://broadwaynews.com/2020/08/21/tony-awards-to-announce-february-eligibility-cutoff-date/?ref=broadwaynews.com) of Feb. 19, 2020\. This excluded “West Side Story” and “Girl from the North Country,” and also eliminated the Best Revival of a Musical category, which had no potential nominees.

Additionally, Aaron Tveit was the only nominee in the category of Best Leading Actor in a Musical. According to the Tony Awards, Tveit will win the category if 60% of Tony voters approve his nomination.

The Best Score category only included scores for plays, excluding the one potential musical nominee, “The Lightning Thief.”
